H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on April 29, 2023 at ALECSO headquarters, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers Association.
The meeting discussed cooperation between ALECSO and the Arab Publishers Association which plays an active role in terms of publishing and knowledge provision.
The President of the Association commended the valuable work performed by ALECSO, as a platform of expertise in its areas of competence, to promote knowledge in the educational, cultural and scientific fields. He also stressed the Association’s forward-looking vision with regard to the role of writers and the quality of publications displayed in book fairs, insisting that publishers should be keen on enhancing the quality of books and promoting the book industry.
For his part, the Director-General expressed appreciation of the significant role played by the Arab Publishers Association, especially in terms of organizing book fairs and providing opportunities for readers to learn about new publications. He indicated, in this regard, that ALECSO stands ready to cooperate with the Association in a way that strengthens its role in promoting and disseminating knowledge.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Salah Maalej, Head of Media and Public Relations Committee at the Arab Publishers Association, and Mr. Abdelhak Haif, Head of the Office of the Director-General.
