H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on April 29, 2023 at ALECSO Headquarters, H.E. Dr. Fahad Mubarak Al-Wahbi, Director-General of “Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Research and Studies Center”.
The meeting discussed cooperation between ALECSO and the Center through the implementation of joint projects in areas of shared interest, including specialized activities to promote and publicize educational, scientific and Islamic heritage.
The meeting also explored ways of establishing cooperation between the Center and the ALECSO-affiliated Institute of Arabic Manuscripts in order to benefit from the Institute’s rich experience and expertise, especially in terms of manuscript restoration, indexing, research and databasing.
The Director-General took this opportunity to commend the continuous and valuable support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ALECSO, so that it can best fulfill its mandate and achieve the goals for which it was established. He also hailed Saudi Arabia’s keenness to enhance joint Arab action in the educational, cultural and scientific fields, by chairing ALECSO’s Executive Board, playing host to various activities and events, actively participating in the council and committee meetings and other events convened by ALECSO, and making the Saudi competencies and expertise available to the Organization.
For his part, Dr. Fahd bin Mubarak Al-Wahbi highly appreciated the effective role played by ALECSO, under the successful directorship of Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, to enhance joint Arab action and strengthen cooperation in the educational, cultural and scientific fields between ALECSO and Arab, regional, and international centers and institutions.
The two sides agreed, at the end of the meeting, to cooperate for the implementation of a number of joint programs and events.
