H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on March 17, 2023, in the UAE, with H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Director-General’s participation in the 20th edition of the “Sharjah Heritage Days”.
The Director-General thanked the Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage for his kind invitation, considering it an opportunity to strengthen relations between ALECSO and the Institute.
For his part, the Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage briefed the Director-General on the current edition of the Sharjah Heritage Days which witnessed the participation of 41 countries and the organization of 11 festivals.
Both sides explored the ways and means of enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially through joint Arab inscription files, the Architectural and Urban Heritage Observatory, and other programs and projects of mutual interest. They addressed the possibility of expanding cooperation to cover the field of publishing. They also discussed renewing the agreement signed between them and developing an executive program that covers common work areas.
