H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs of the State of Kuwait, and President of the National Council for Culture, received H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, on the occasion of his participation in the Qurain Cultural Festival, hosted by the State of Kuwait on March 13-14, 2023.
The Director-General thanked the Kuwaiti Minister for the warm welcome and for the invitation to the Qurain Cultural Festival. He commended the significant role played by the State of Kuwait and its continuous support to ALECSO, as well as its keen interest in promoting joint Arab action in ALECSO’s areas of competence, including in the field of culture, through its positive and effective participation in the council and committee meetings and in the various events convened by the Organization, such as the meetings of the Standing Committee on Arab Culture.
The Director-General also expressed his thanks to the Minister for Kuwait’s hosting of the meetings of the Arab Expert Committee on World Heritage, as well as of the Conference on the Strategy for the Promotion of Cultural Industries, Creative Economy, and Start-ups in the Arab Countries.
In the same context, the Director-General expressed hope that the State of Kuwait host the event designed to publicize the Updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture. This event would bring together culture experts, and serve as an opportunity to explain the mechanisms through which the Plan would be implemented on the ground for the benefit of all Arab countries.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Minister highlighted the progress his country has made in promoting youth development, and the mechanisms established for youth in the field of culture, jointly with the private sector.
