The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Culture Department) held its first annual “Culture and Arts Forum”, in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
The Forum was held at ALECSO headquarters on February 14, 2023, with a program involving the following:
- Honoring a number of calligraphers who contributed to the “Calligraphy, Shared Memory, Living Heritage and Diverse Art” event, organized on the occasion of the 18th Francophonie Summit (Djerba, November 2022);
- Honoring the Organizing Committee of the “Calligraphy, Shared Memory, Living Heritage and Diverse Art” event.
- Musical performance by Amina Srarfi music band;
- Screening of videos on:
- Culture Department’s activities and publications in 2022;
- Work program of ALECSO’s Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture, Sheikha Al Yazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan from the United Arab Emirates;
- Culture Department’s exhibition at the 18th Francophonie Summit, as part of the “Calligraphy, Shared Memory, Living Heritage and Diverse Art” event.
- Devoting a pavilion for :
- The Tunis International Center for Digital Cultural Economy;
- Emerging cultural institutions.
- Holding Art Exhibitions :
- Exhibition of World Heritage in Arab Countries
- Fine Art Exhibition;
- Photo Exhibition : “Al-Quds is Palestinian”;
- Calligraphy and Ceramics Exhibition.
The Forum was attended by the Director-General of ALECSO, the President of the Tunis Center of the League of Arab States, representatives of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited to Tunisia (Cultural Attaches), along with intellectuals, artists, calligraphers, and representatives of national, Arab and international media.
