H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on February 25, 2023, with H.E. Ambassador Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Palestine Sector in the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Director-General’s participation in the meetings of the 111th session of the Economic and Social Council, held in Cairo on February 5-9, 2023.
The meeting discussed cooperation between ALECSO and the Palestine Sector on various issues. The Director-General thanked the Ambassador for providing this opportunity to discuss important issues related to education, and stressed that ALECSO will spare no effort to provide the needed assistance and academic orientation to Palestinian students. He also indicated that ALECSO is keen to regularly participate in the meetings held by the Palestine Sector at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
For his part, Dr. Abu Ali briefed the Director-General on the status of Palestinian students studying at the Institute of Arab Research and Studies, commending, in this regard, all the facilities provided to them. He called on the Organization to continue providing support to the Palestine Sector in the educational, cultural and scientific fields. He also called for increasing cooperation between the Institute of Arab Research and Studies and Palestinian universities in order to benefit from the high academic training offered by the Institute.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Kamal, Director of the Institute of Arab Research and Studies, and Mr. Abdelhak Haif, Head of Office of the Director-General.
