The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization held, on December 19-21, 2022, a training course on “Developing textbooks for quality and equitable education.”
The course aims to identify methodologies for developing educational textbooks in line with quality standards and with scientific, educational, and cultural and requirements.
The course addresses a range of themes, including :
- Fundamentals of textbook design for all stages of education;
- Visual readability of textbooks;
- Physical standards for textbook design;
- Key functions of textbooks (from learner and teacher perspectives);
- Function-based classification of textbooks;
- Key challenges facing textbook design;
- Variables affecting textbook classification;
- Types of textbooks designed for teachers;
- Textbook evaluation;
- Using QR Code and Augmented Reality technology in textbooks.
