 ALECSO announces winners of 3rd Arab Math Olympiad



 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and H.E. Dr. Fethi Sellaouti, Tunisian Minister of Education, chaired, on December 19, 2022, the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Arab Mathematics Olympiad, during which the winners were announced.

In his remarks on this occasion, the Director-General indicated that ALECSO is keen to maintain the durability of the Olympiad as an annual Arab educational activity that offers students the opportunity to compete in the field of mathematics. This competition, he added, is designed to develop the sense of logical and critical thinking among children and youth, which would empower them contribute to the development of their countries and societies.

For his part, the Tunisian Minister highlighted that the competition represents a real opportunity to enhance scientific skills, and its results provide an objective tool to measure the effectiveness of mathematics curricula in the Arab countries.

ALECSO has organized this Olympiad via remote communication technology, with the participation of 60 students with outstanding mathematical skills from 15 Arab countries.
