As part of his visit to the State of Qatar to participate in the “Forum of Organizations”, organized by the Qatari Ministry of Culture in Doha on December 12-13, 2022, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met with H.E. Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar.
The Director-General renewed his congratulations to Dr. Al-Sulaiti on her new position as Deputy-Speaker of the Shura Council. He also reiterated his congratulations to the Emir, Government and people of the State of Qatar for the outstanding success in hosting the 2022 World Cup.
The Director-General reviewed the programs and activities jointly carried out by ALECSO and the State of Qatar in the educational, cultural and scientific fields, along with the specialized conferences scheduled for late 2022 and 2023.
The Director-General reiterated, on this occasion, his thanks to the State of Qatar for its continuous support and its keen interest in scaling up cooperation with ALECSO. He also stressed ALECSO’s commitment to pursue joint action with all relevant ministries in Qatar in pursuit of shared goals.
The Director-General commended the significant role played by Dr. Al-Sulaiti in strengthening relations between ALECSO and relevant ministries during the period she was member and vice-president of the Executive Board. He wished that she would continue to support ALECSO from her new position toward further strengthening relations between the two parties in the service of joint Arab action.
For her part, Dr. Hamda Al-Sulaiti thanked the Director-General for his great efforts to raise the profile of ALECSO and promote joint Arab action in the educational, cultural and scientific fields, to the benefit of all Arab peoples. She reaffirmed her continued support for the Organization, so that it can perform its mandate and meet its goals as best as possible.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mourad Mahmoudi, Secretary of the Executive Board and General Conference, Acting Director of the Culture Department, and Mr. Abdelhadi Ghemari, Program Coordinator at the same Department.
