ALECSO holds Ibn Khaldun-Senghor Translation Award ceremony




 

Under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and H.E. Mrs. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie, the 15th Ibn Khaldun-Senghor Translation Award ceremony was held on  December 12, 2022, at the OIF headquarters in Paris, France.

The Director-General was represented at this ceremony by Dr. Abdelfattah Lahjomri, Director of the Rabat-based Arabization Coordination Bureau. 

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Ilaf Slama, Coordinator of the Award, and Ms. Afifa Zayadi, Officer-in-charge of the Permanent Office of ALECSO to UNESCO, along with members of the Award Jury, representatives of diplomatic missions, and other eminent personalities.

The Award was granted to the French writer and philosopher Jean-Baptiste Brenet, for his translation, from Arabic into French, of Averroes’ “Mukhtassar kitab al nafs : al qawlou fi al quwwah al-natiqah” (Compendium du livre De l’âme : Le chapitre sur la puissance rationnelle).
