ALECSO holds training course in Egypt on  “Enhancing the School’s Role in Preventing Violence and Extremism”

 

 

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Education Department) held, on November 29-30 - December 1, 2022, jointly with the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, a training course on “Enhancing the School’s Role in Preventing Violence and Extremism”. 

In his statement at the opening session, H.E. Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of the Education Department, conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, to H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and to H.E. Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education. He highlighted the importance of the workshop which seeks to enhance the students’ critical thinking skills, so that they can properly deal with the information and knowledge transmitted to them through digital means. 

Dr. Iskander underlined the need to continue organizing such training events which help transfer knowledge to trainees, and stressed the importance of continued cooperation with Egypt to achieve the desired goals, as part of a shared endeavor to boost joint Arab action. 

For his part, H.E. Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Absi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, commended the significant role assumed by the teacher in positively influencing the development of students’ critical thinking and analysis skills on and off school premises.
