The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization continues to implement training courses in Jordan. The second training workshop on “Building teacher competency in the use of action-research methodology” kicked off on November 22, 2022.
In his remarks on this occasion, Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of the Education Department, highlighted the effective role played by action-research in improving teachers’ research practices, whether individual or collective, designed to find solutions to the problems they encounter in the teaching process.
For her part, Ms. Ibtisam Ayoub, Secretary of the Jordanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, underlined the importance of scientific research and its role in developing the teacher’s professional competence. She highlighted the role of action-research in enhancing communication among teachers, students, educational researchers, and school administrators, which contributes to better transferring knowledge from teachers to students.
The training course was moderated by two experts : Dr. Omar Al-Mahasneh from Al-Balqa Applied University, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Desouky, from Helwan University.
