French writer and philosopher Jean-Baptiste Brenet wins   15th Ibn Khaldun-Senghor Translation Award

In implementation of the “Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Award for Translation in Literature and Humanities” project, and as part of the activities of the “Francophonie Village”, organized within the framework of the Francophonie Summit in Djerba, Tunisia, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization and the International Organization of La Francophonie announced the winner of “Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award” in its 15th edition (2022).

After deliberations, the Jury decided to grant the Award to the French writer and philosopher Jean-Baptiste Brenet, for his translation, from Arabic into French, of Averroes’ “Mukhtassar kitab al nafs : al qawlou fi al quwwah al-natiqah” (Compendium du livre De l’âme : Le chapitre sur la puissance rationnelle).

The award ceremony will be held on December 12, 2022 at the headquarters of the International Organization of La Francophonie in Paris, France.
