A delegation from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization held a working session, on November 7, 2022, with the Director-General of the Department of Scientific Research and Universities of Catalonia. The meeting is part of the joint work program between ALECSO and the Catalan Government in the educational, cultural and scientific fields.
The meeting discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the Scientific Research Center CERCA and ALECSO.
The ALECSO delegation presented a set of proposals for the joint implementation of a number of activities.
The delegation also held a working session, at the Catalan Ministry of Education, with the Ministry’s Language Department. The meeting discussed the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides, and addressed ways of promoting cooperation in the implementation of joint projects for the teaching of Arabic in Catalan schools.
The delegation visited a school and attended an Arabic language lesson. It also took part in a seminar held by the Euro-Mediterranean Institute on the presence of the Arab World in Catalan Schools.
