Secretary-General of King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language   receives Director-General of ALECSO

 

H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of “King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language”, received, on October 25, 2022 at the Academy’s headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,  H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Hani bin Moqbel Al-Moqbel, President of the Executive Board of ALECSO, and H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Alblihed, Secretary-General of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.

The meeting discussed the ways and means of boosting cooperation between ALECSO and the Academy.

The Secretary-General of the Academy provided a brief overview about the mission and activities of the Academy. He expressed his appreciation of this meeting which offers an opportunity to lay the ground for an effective partnership between the Academy and ALECSO in the area of Arabic language promotion.

For his part, the Director-General of ALECSO thanked the Secretary-General for providing this opportunity to consult and discuss opportunities for joint cooperation. He put forward ideas and proposals that are of interest to the Organization and are aligned with the mission of the Academy.

The Director-General praised the role undertaken by H.E. Mr. Hani bin Moqbel Al Moqbel, President of the Executive Board, to provide opportunities for cooperation with relevant Saudi institutions. He also commended the significant role of the Saudi National Commission in promoting cooperation with ALECSO.

The two parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding that identifies the programs and activities agreed upon during this meeting.

The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language is established by the Council of Ministers decree number (34) dated 1 September 2020. It aims to contribute to strengthening the role of the Arabic language regionally and globally, and to highlight its value in expressing the linguistic depth of Arabic and Islamic culture. Its initiatives were launched within the Human Capability Development Program, one of the programs that aims to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
