The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Culture Department) took part in a session entitled “Highlights on the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization,” held at Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi on October 6, 2022, jointly with the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth and Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center.
ALECSO was represented by Dr. Mourad Mahmoudi, Secretary of the Executive Board and General Conference, Acting Director of the Culture Department, Dr. Ahmado Habibi, Expert at the Culture Department, and Mr. Hedi Ghemari, Coordinator of Activities.
The session included an exhibition of ALECSO’s publications and a video-film on the “Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture” program.
The session began with a welcoming statement delivered by Mr. Dhekra Wali, Cultural Adviser to H.H. Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, ALECSO’s Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture. On their part, H.E. Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, delivered an opening address, and H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, offered a video-recorded statement.
Following the opening statements, an introductory video film about ALECSO was screened. Dr. Mourad Mahmoudi made a presentation on the updated Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture. On his part, Dr. Ahmado Habibi offered a brief overview about the joint Arab cultural project (five-year map of joint Arab files), which was adopted by the 22nd Conference of Arab Culture Ministers, held in Dubai in December 2021.
The floor was then opened for a general discussion on policies for supporting talented people.
