ALECSO Director-General receives Spanish Ambassador to Tunisia

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, received, on October 4, 2022 at ALECSO headquarters, H.E. Mr. Guillermo Ardizone Garcia, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Tunisia.

The meeting discussed the ways and means of enhancing relations between ALECSO and the Kingdom of Spain, in light of the current global changes and challenges.

The Director-General welcomed the Ambassador and briefed him on the Organization’s mandate, goals, programs and activities.  He expressed his readiness to explore the prospects of cooperation between ALECSO and the Spanish Government in the educational, cultural and scientific fields.

For his part, the Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Director-General for providing this opportunity to better know ALECSO and the active role it plays at the Arab and global levels, which can be best leveraged to strengthen relations between the two sides.  He indicated that Spain stands ready to cooperate with ALECSO and share the Spanish experience in terms of research capacity-building.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation program for the implementation of joint educational, cultural, and scientific activities, in pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals.
