ALECSO and Tunisian Culture Ministry sign Cooperation Agreement

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO and H.E. Dr. Hayat Al Guermazi, Tunisian Minister of Cultural Affairs, chaired the signing ceremony, held on August 26, 2022 at the seat of the Culture Ministry, of a bilateral cooperation agreement.

The agreement concerns the organization of a Calligraphy Exhibition and other cultural activities, during the period  November 13-21, 2022, on the sidelines of the 18th Francophonie  Summit, to be held in Djerba, Tunisia.

The Director-General indicated that this agreement is part of the continuous cooperation between ALECSO and the host-country. He stressed that partnership with Tunisia is taking on a strategic dimension and covers various fields pertaining to education, culture, science, and ICT. This partnership, he added, seeks to further promote joint Arab action which is continuously being strengthened thanks to the constructive cooperation between ALECSO and Tunisia.

For her part, the Tunisian Minister thanked ALECSO for its fruitful and continuous partnership with Tunisia, and commended the significant level of cooperation between the two parties. She called for further supporting the joint projects and programs currently under implementation. She insisted on the need for all the involved parties to make all efforts to ensure the proper implementation of the agreement and the success of the cultural event to be held on the sidelines of the Francophonie Summit.

The agreement identifies the components of the cultural event, including an exhibition of heritage and artistic items, calligraphy workshops, dissemination of publications, dialogue seminars, and digital experiments. It also defines the mechanisms for implementing these activities jointly with the different parties involved.
