ALECSO and King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language discuss ways of boosting cooperation for the promotion of Arabic

The Arab Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held a virtual meeting, on July 23, 2022, with King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language to address ways of further enhancing cooperation between the two institutions for the promotion of the Arabic language, through implementing joint projects concerned with the advancement of Arab culture and the development of education, culture and science at national and regional levels.

The two sides presented their relevant programs and objectives and discussed cooperation between ALECSO and the Academy in several areas, including language policies in the Arab region and the need for a common policy for the promotion of the Arabic language.

The meeting also addressed ways of increasing cooperation in the field of computational linguistics as well as in other fields, including the promotion of Arabic language programs for non-native speakers, the improvement of Arabic language skills for native speakers, and the development of language dictionaries.

The meeting was attended virtually by representatives from King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, the Director of the Education Department at ALECSO, the Director of the Arabization Coordination Bureau (Rabat), the Director of the Khartoum International Institute for the Arabic Language, and a representative from the Department of International Cultural Relations at the Saudi Ministry of Culture.
