As part of his official visit to Lebanon, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, was received, on August 3, 2022, by H.E. Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Murtada, Lebanese Minister of Culture.
The meeting focused on ways of further enhancing cooperation between ALECSO and the Lebanese Ministry of Culture in pursuit of shared goals and objectives.
The Lebanese Minister commended the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry, expressing his readiness to further develop this cooperation so that it covers other priority activities that will be agreed upon in the future. Foremost among these activities is the preparation for the celebration of the city of Tripoli as Capital of Arab Culture for 2024.
For his part, the Director-General thanked the Lebanese Minister for providing this opportunity to consult on issues of common interest. He indicated that ALECSO stands ready to increase cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Culture for the implementation of priority cultural activities, while benefiting from the Lebanese expertise in the Organization’s work.
The Director-General took this opportunity to invite the Lebanese Minister to visit the Organization. The Minister responded positively to the invitation, and the visit will take place before the end of this month.
