H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received, on July 20, 2022, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
The Director-General presented, during this meeting, the outcomes of the specialized ministerial conferences held by ALECSO, as well as the activities and programs designed to promote joint Arab action in the educational, cultural and scientific fields. He also touched on ALECSO’s initiative on youth promotion, designed to strengthen the role of youth as a driving force of sustainable development.
For his part, the Secretary-General thanked the Director-General for all ALECSO’s achievements and activities which have enhanced the standing of the Organization and enabled it to move further ahead in fulfilling its mandate and implementing its plans, strategies and programs for the benefit of Member States.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed his support for the Organization to pursue its mandate as an Arab platform of expertise in the educational, cultural and scientific fields.
The meeting also touched on the Institute of Arab Research and Studies and the significant role it plays as a specialized academic institution whose new headquarters, in the 6th of October City, is scheduled to be inaugurated in the coming academic year 2022-2023.
