As part of the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of ALECSO, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Organization, inaugurated, on July 20, 2022 in Cairo, Egypt, the Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition.
This exhibition, held during the period July 20-29, 2022, is organized by the ALECSO-affiliated Institute of Arabic Manuscripts under the title : “Calligraphy and Manuscript”.
In his statement on this occasion, the Director-General highlighted the importance of this exhibition as a “cultural and heritage event par excellence, reflecting the organic relationship between the heritage of Arabic calligraphy and the heritage of Arabic manuscripts.” This exhibition, he added, “gains even more importance as it enables both professionals and amateurs to get acquainted with one of the most salient expressions of the Arab genius from different angles”.
