H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on June 30, 2022 at the headquarters of the Permanent Delegation of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO in Paris, HH Princess Haifa Al Mogrin, Ambassador-Permanent Delegate of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO.
The meeting explored ways of stepping up cooperation and partnership between ALECSO and UNESCO. It also touched on many of the issues raised during the ministerial meetings held as part of the Transforming Education Pre-Summit, convened in preparation for the Transforming Education Summit to take place in New York next September.
The Director-General presented, during this meeting, the main projects that ALECSO is preparing as part of the cooperation program that it will sign with UNESCO. He also highlighted ALECSO’s future-oriented vision in the field of education, especially in light of the challenges facing educational systems in the Arab countries, which requires developing more effective mechanisms to achieve the relevant sustainable development goals.
On her part, HH Princess Haifa Al Mogrin expressed her readiness to further strengthen cooperation with ALECSO, and commended the significant role played by ALECSO to promote education and develop educational, cultural and scientific policies in collaboration with Member States.
