H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, participated, on June 29, 2022, in the meeting of the SDG 4 Education 2030 High-Level Steering Committee.
The meeting was opened by Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, in the presence of the Committee’s members from countries around the world.
The meeting discussed the draft Urgent Call for Action prepared by the Committee, which will be submitted to the world leaders at the United Nations Transforming Education Summit, to be held in New York, USA, in September 2022.
In their interventions, the participants underlined the need to come out with a shared vision for transforming education and speeding up recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis, so that education can best serve as a key driver for the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
On the occasion of this meeting, the Director-General had talks with Ms. Audrey Azoulay, during which the two sides reaffirmed the importance of stepping up cooperation and partnership between the two organizations in pursuit of shared goals and objectives.
