On the sidelines of his participation in the “Transforming Education Pre-Summit” in Paris, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on June 28, 2022 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, with H.E. Dr. Marwan Awartani, Minister of Education of the State of Palestine.
The meeting explored ways of strengthening cooperation between ALECSO and the State of Palestine which currently chairs the 12th session of the Conference of Arab Education Ministers. The two sides discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, including the follow-up of the resolutions and recommendations adopted at the previous conference.
The Director-General put forward, during this meeting, ideas and visions about the future of education and the related challenges, noting that ALECSO is continuously cooperating with all Arab States to develop ways of promoting education so that it can serve as a driver for the implementation of the relevant Sustainable Development Goals.
On his part, the Minister advanced some ideas in this same context, stressing that cooperation and consultation among all relevant actors are key to reaching a common vision for the promotion of educational systems in the Arab countries.
