ALECSO Director-General meets Yemeni Minister of Education
H.E. Dr. Tariq Al-Akbari, Minister of Education of the Republic of Yemen, received, on June 28, 2022, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, at the headquarters of the Permanent Delegation of Yemen to UNESCO in Paris. The meeting was attended by H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Jumeh, Permanent Delegate of Yemen to UNESCO.
The Yemeni Minister expressed his appreciation of the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry, stressing that the two parties are seeking to increase consultations on a number of issues related to the Organization’s areas of work, and to step up cooperation through the National Commission which seeks to benefit from the Organization’s expertise as well as its activities, programs and training courses.
On his part, the Director-General thanked the Minister for providing this opportunity for consultation on ways of boosting cooperation between ALECSO and the Yemeni Ministry of Education. He indicated that ALECSO continues to provide support to the Ministry, especially in terms of capacity-building and upgrading of human resources, including through providing grants to Yemeni students at the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo. He also asserted that the Organization pursues its support to the Yemeni National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, so that it can best fulfill its coordination work.
