ALECSO participates in the International Conference on   Youth, Identity and Migration in Times of Transformations

 

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part, on June 27-29, 2022 at the Modern Nouakchott University in Mauritania, in the International Conference on “Youth, Identity and Migration in Times of Transformations”. 

The Conference was organized by the International Network for Arab Societies Study,  in collaboration with ALECSO and in partnership with the Mauritanian Center for Legal, Economic and Social Studies and Research, and a number of specialized research institutions.

The aim of the Conference was to take stock of the global, regional and national contexts surrounding migration issues, and to highlight the importance of studies on youth and identity, especially in the current context.

The Conference was attended by representatives from the Modern Nouakchott University, the Mauritanian Center for Legal, Economic and Social Studies and Research, the International Network for Arab Societies Study, and the German Hans Seidel Foundation (Mauritania and Morocco Office), in addition to high-level experts from specialized Arab and non-Arab institutions and centers.

Addressing the opening session virtually, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, stressed that the Organization has granted continued attention to all issues in connection with the present and future of Arab youth, and that it welcomes all initiatives designed to promote youth empowerment and increase cooperation and partnership in implementing programs and projects for our Arab youth.
