H.E. Dr. Chakib Benmoussa, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports in the Kingdom of Morocco, received, on May 15, 2022, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
The meeting was an opportunity to take stock of ALECSO’s activities and programs implemented in Morocco through the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture. It also addressed ways of enhancing coordination between ALECSO and the Ministry for the follow-up of the decisions and recommendations adopted by 12th Conference of Arab Education Ministers, held virtually in November 2021 and hosted by the State of Palestine.
The Director-General expressed appreciation of the process of cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry, coordinated by the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. He commended Morocco’s continuous support to the Organization in the implementation of its mandate.
The Director-General presented, on this occasion, the broad lines of ALECSO’s Action Plan for the coming period 2023-2028, as well as the Arab Plan for Education in Times of Emergency and Crisis, and the Organization’s forward-looking vision. He also reviewed preparations for the 13th Conference of Arab Education Ministers.
On his part, the Minister thanked the Director-General for the spirit of consultation and coordination pursued by ALECSO in the educational, scientific and cultural fields, and its endeavor to further strengthen cooperation through its programs and activities in Morocco. He stressed, in this regard, the need to best benefit from the programs of ALECSO, being the Arab House of expertise in its fields of action.
