ALECSO Director-General gives interview to Tunisian National Radio

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, gave an interview, on May 20, 2022, to the Tunisian National Radio. He was introduced by his interviewer as one of the leading figures in the Arab world in the fields of education,  culture and science. 

Dr. Ould Amar recalled that he had been received twice by Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed. The meetings addressed the ways and means of further promoting the work of the Organization and its future projects, including the Arabic Calligraphy project and the establishment of a Center for Arabic Calligraphy in Tunisia.

The interview covered various topics pertaining to education in the Arab countries as well as to the status of the Arabic language, with emphasis on the leading role performed by the Organization for its promotion and dissemination.   

The Director-General highlighted ALECSO’s key achievements, projects and programs in recent years, as well as its plans for the future, especially in terms of promoting scientific research, technology, and coding culture. 

Dr. Ould Amar indicated that ALECSO’s General Conference is holding its 26th session on May 21, 2022 in Tunis, Tunisia. He addressed the cooperation existing between ALECSO and Tunisia, the host-country of the Organization, especially in terms of education and higher education. He referred, in this regard, to the cooperation agreements concluded in the fields of scientific research as well as to the project of developing an Arab plan for knowledge and education. He also underlined the importance of promoting distance learning and increasing spending on education, culture, and technology.
