H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, announced, on April 20, 2022, the launch of the “Cultural Guide” program, implemented in partnership with the initiative of ALECSO’s Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture, H.H. Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan, and targeted at cultural guides in Arab museums, relevant professionals, university students, and NGOs active in the field of cultural guidance in museums, archaeological sites, and historical monuments.
The “Cultural Guide” program is designed to promote positive behavior amongst Arab youth, to encourage them to visit museums and archaeological sites, and to contribute to upgrading the skills of cultural guides in Arab countries.
The program extends over two months (20 April - 18 June, 2022), and includes a training workshop for the participating cultural guides, a series of activities and events in Arab museums, along with competitions and prizes for prominent initiatives that are most responsive to the goals of the program.
In addition to the cultural guides nominated by Arab countries, who will supervise the implementation of the scheduled events, the program offers all those interested in this field the opportunity to benefit from the training workshop and to participate, in-person or virtually, in the activities that will be held in museums.
