The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part, via Zoom, in the Education-Sector Dialogue Meeting, organized on April 12, 2022 by the Comorian Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research, Training and Integration. The meeting was designed to prepare the groundwork for the Sectoral Education Plan for 2030, to discuss the foundations for developing and introducing the needed reforms into the Comorian educational system, and to strengthen strategic partnerships in order to support the Ministry in this endeavor.
ALECSO was represented in this meeting by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of the ICT Department and Acting Director of the Education Department. Dr. Jemni stressed that ALECSO supports the Ministry in this project and stands ready to provide the needed technical backstopping for the upgrading and modernization of the Comorian educational system, so that it can keep pace with the current digital transformations. He indicated that the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will create new occupations to which Arab educational systems should be adequately prepared, through developing the appropriate curricula and scaling up human resources.
