The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization took part, on March 30, 2022, in Tunis, Tunisia, in the International Symposium on “Adult Citizenship Education for Sustainable Development 2030”, organized jointly with the German Confederation for Adult Education.
In his opening statement, read out on his behalf by Mr. Oussama El Habach, representative from the Education Department, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, stressed that citizenship education is a key issue to which the Organization attaches major importance in its activities and programs for Arab States. He pointed out that citizenship education is now a key area of interest for all governmental, regional and international bodies and organizations, as well as for the international public opinion, stressing that the right to education and learning is no longer linked to a specific age, but has now become a universal right for all.
The Director-General indicated, in this context, that ALECSO will participate in the international symposium on “Citizenship Education”, scheduled to be held in Marrakesh, Morocco, on June 15-17, 2022.
