H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on March 21, 2022 at ALECSO headquarters, H.E. Dr. Abdelbaki Benziane, Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of the 18th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held in Algeria on December 26-28, 2021.
The Director-General welcomed the Minister and his accompanying delegation, and thanked him for his continuous support to the Organization. He expressed his appreciation of the level of cooperation between ALECSO and the Algerian Ministry, and highlighted the prospects offered for further strengthening this cooperation for better serving joint Arab action in the fields of higher education and scientific research, and for better leveraging the experience and expertise gained by both parties.
For his part, the Minister expressed his thanks to the Director-General for his sustained efforts to scale up cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry and to promote the implementation of joint programs and projects in pursuit of the vision shared by two parties.
The meeting discussed the ways and means of further strengthening relations and coordination between the Organization and the Ministry. It also reviewed the future activities of the Organization and the recommendations adopted by the latest Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which will be implemented in coordination with the President of the current session.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between ALECSO and the Ministry. The implementation of this agreement, designed to serve common goals, will be launched in the near future.
