In preparation for the launch of the “Arab University Ranking” project, implemented by ALECSO jointly with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Association of Arab Universities, an introductory virtual workshop was held, on March 2, 2021, to announce the pilot version of the “Arab University Ranking” project, expected to be launched this year.
The workshop was designed to :
- Familiarize the representatives of the Arab universities participating in the pilot version of the “Arab University Ranking” Project with the relevant standards and indicators;
- Present the content of the electronic platform for the “Arab University Ranking” project;
- Review the proposals and observations of the representatives of the participating Arab universities.
The workshop was attended by the scientific and executive team from ALECSO and the Association of Arab Universities, along with representatives of the universities participating in the project (from Jordan, Tunisia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, and Egypt) who offered their observations and suggestions about the ranking criteria and indicators and the platform’s structure.
The workshop program involved PowerPoint presentations about the project and the related standards and indicators, taking into consideration the specificity of Arab universities, as well as about the electronic platform for the Arab University Ranking project, the registration mechanisms, and the data entry method for each university.
