H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, chaired, on February 28, 2022, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between ALECSO and K2LIS, a startup specializing in Blockchain technology.
The MoU is designed to establish cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest for the implementation of ICT-related activities, especially in designing and developing electronic systems using Blockchain technology.
In his remarks on this occasion, the Director-General indicated that ALECSO is keen on strengthening cooperation and partnership with organizations and universities, and on promoting openness to the educational, cultural and scientific community in the host country and elsewhere.
The Director-General stressed ALECSO’s readiness to scale up cooperation for providing best solutions, applications and skills for Arab countries, through a unified Arab project designed to facilitate the verification of the authenticity of certificates and diplomas through a faster, safer and more accurate Blockchain-based mechanism; thereby enabling ministries, universities, institutions and individuals to save significant time and effort in checking the authenticity of documents.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to start, from this year, implementing the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding.
