H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part, remotely, on February 13, 2022, in the “Introductory Meeting on the First International Conference on Food Security and Environmental Sustainability", to be held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Saudi Minister of Education, on March 7-9, 2022, at King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific (ALECSO).
The meeting was attended by country officials, specialists, experts and media professionals. It was designed to examine the state of food security at the Arab and global levels, and the related challenges, and to discuss future-oriented strategies and policies to promote food security and achieve environmental sustainability.
In his statement on this occasion, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar commended the valuable efforts made by King Faisal University to publicize this conference which addresses vital SDG-related issues. He stressed that ALECSO is keen on strengthening the promising strategic partnership with King Faisal University, through the implementation of joint activities and encouraging researchers to further engage in scientific research and to leverage modern technologies and advanced sciences, in order to meet the needs and requirements of Arab countries.
