The opening of this event was attended by Dr. Kamel El-Hajjam, Secretary-General of the Tunisian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, representing H.E. Dr. Fethi Sellaouti, Tunisian Minister of Education, and Mrs. Widad Rezgui, President of the Tunisian Association for Educational Initiatives.

In his opening remarks, the Director-General underlined the importance of the Arab Code Week, an event designed to help spread the culture of programming in Arab societies and to enable teachers, students, and all those interested in modern technologies to unleash their full potential. He indicated that the ACW provides an exciting learning environment that helps to teach the basics of programming for all ages, especially young people. It thus offers them wide prospects to explore new disciplines, by involving them in software competitions, enhancing their scientific and educational skills, and enabling them to embrace creativity, excellence, leadership and innovation, in line with the global STEAM approach.
