ALECSO holds its first International Conference on Arabic Language

 

 

The First International Conference on Arabic Language and Cultural Communication kicked off on December 22, 2021 at ALECSO headquarters, as part of the celebration of the World Arabic Language Day, with the participation of a number of prominent experts, academics and poets.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, emphasized that there are valuable opportunities for the Arabic language to recover its outstanding status, to enrich universal intellectual, scientific and technological knowledge, and to enable its users to contribute to the progress and development of their societies.  He indicated that Arabic, being a language of science, thought, culture, communication, philosophy, science, arts, creativity, literature, economy, trade, finance and administration, should be developed and preserved so that it can pursue its role in all walks of  life.

The two-day Conference addresses various themes, including distance education and ways of promoting its successful implementation, artificial intelligence and other technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, cultural communication and the related issues, and the technology challenges facing the Arabic language and the adequate responses to meet them.
