The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held a three-month (remote) training course (September 20 to December 20, 2021) on “Upgrading Teacher Competencies to Integrate Technology in Education”.
The course, targeted at teaching professionals in Somalia, Djibouti and Comoros, was attended by 120 participants, about 40 from each of the three countries. It was designed to enhance teachers’ technology skills and knowledge, and to consolidate the culture of technology-enhanced education.
The training course, which included theoretical and practical aspects, focused on the following topics :
- Educational technology : definition, evolution and advantages;
- E-learning : definition, characteristics, types, uses and applications;
- Teacher’s professional tools in the digital age : transformations and teacher’s multiple roles;
- Educational applications of Second Generation Tools;
- The Computer Culture.
