H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met on November 16, 2021 at UNESCO Headquarters, H.E. Dr. Tawfik Jelassi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information.
The Director-General offered a comprehensive overview about ALECSO’s achievements and initiatives in response to the COVID-19 crisis. He commended the excellent relations between ALECSO and UNESCO, calling for further strengthening these relations to serve shared goals.
On his part, the Assistant Director-General briefed the Director-General on the main tasks undertaken by the Communication and Information Sector of UNESCO, especially in terms of providing technological programs and electronic platforms for educational and university institutions. He emphasized, in this regard, the need to build a real partnership between UNESCO and ALECSO in the field of information technology, expressing his readiness to develop an executive program to that end.
The two sides agreed to pursue consultation for the implementation of the shared goals of the two Organizations.
