ALECSO Director-General meets Ambassador-Delegate of Mauritania to UNESCO

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on November 16, 2021 in Paris, H.E Mr. Cheikhna Nenni , Ambassador-Permanent Delegate of Mauritania to UNESCO and President of the Arab Group.

The Director-General highlighted the main activities undertaken by the Organization, especially in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and the support it has offered to Arab countries, especially those with special needs, by providing online platforms and computer devices to maintain the continuity of learning. He also reviewed the Organization’s main lines of action for the future, particularly the Strategic Plan 2023-2028 and the Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture, in addition to the holding of specialized ministerial conferences.

The Director-General reiterated his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Arab Group for supporting the joint Arab files submitted for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On his part, the Ambassador commended the work undertaken by ALECSO in its fields of competence, especially for the dissemination of science and knowledge. He called on ALECSO and its Director-General to continue working with the same enthusiasm and will, in order to meet the Arab peoples’ aspirations for a better future. He indicated that the Arab Group stands ready to provide support for all the inscription files proposed by the Organization.
