ALECSO concludes virtual training course on “Improving the competitive advantage of TVET systems to enhance youth employment opportunities in the Arab countries.”




 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Education Department) concluded the first session of a three-session training program on “Improving the Competitive Advantage of TVET Systems to Enhance Youth Employment Opportunities in the Arab Countries.” The session was attended by 20 relevant specialists from Jordan, Tunisia, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Yemen.

This training event comes as part of ALECSO’s efforts to develop the TVET sector in the Arab countries, being a strategic choice that requires increased attention to enhance its quality and competitive advantage; thereby offering TVET graduates sustainable access to the labor market in line with the sustainable development goals. 

Participants made presentations, shared experiences and expertise, and proposed recommendations calling for :

  • Promoting TVET policies, strategies, programs, and governance;
  • Developing TVET skills and preparing young generations for future occupations; 
  • Developing standards adopted in approving TVET outputs toward guaranteeing quality, competitiveness and response to job market needs.
