H.E. President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, received, on November 3, 2021 at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, on the occasion of the First Regional Forum on “The Empowerment of Arab Creative Women”, convened in Nouakchott, Mauritania, on November 3-4, 2021.
This meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Mokhtar Ould Dahi, Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Relations with Parliament, and Government Spokesman, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El Amine, Director of the President's Office, and H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Sidi Abdallah, Secretary-General of the Mauritanian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.
The Director-General expressed his sincere thanks to the Mauritanian President for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to all participants in the cultural events hosted by Mauritania. He took this opportunity to present to the Mauritanian President the broad lines of the Strategic Plan of ALECSO for the period 2023-2028, as well as the Comprehensive Plan for Arab Culture prepared by the Organization and which will be submitted to the forthcoming Conference of Arab Culture Ministers.
The Director-General also briefed the Mauritanian President on the main outcomes and recommendations of the 25th session of the Conference on Archeology and Cultural Heritage in the Arab World, as well as on the main activities of the first day of the Regional Forum on the Empowerment of Arab Creative Women, and the ongoing preparations for the Mauritanian Youth Forum.
On his part, The Mauritanian President expressed his appreciation of the significant role undertaken by ALECSO in its fields of competence. He expressed his support for the Organization and its noble mission and for all that can promote joint Arab action, indicating that Mauritania is keen to strengthen cooperation and partnership with ALECSO.
