ALECSO appoints Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture

 

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, announced the appointment of H.H. Sheikha  Alyazia  Bint  Nahyan  Bin  Mubarak  Al Nahyan as “ALECSO Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture” for the years 2021 and 2022. 

The appointment was announced during a ceremony held on October 14, 2021, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, and Ms. Salma Al Darmaki, Secretary-General of the UAE National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.

The Director-General expressed his deep thanks to Sheikha Alyazia for having accepted to be appointed as ALECSO’s first “Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture”. This appointment, he said, comes in recognition of the distinguished status that Sheikha Alyazia enjoys at the national, Arab and international level, as well as the leading role played by the United Arab Emirates in promoting joint Arab cultural action.

On her part, the Emirati Minister expressed her appreciation of this initiative which reflects the great attention that ALECSO grants to creators in the Arab World so that they can best serve Arab culture at all levels. 

After receiving the ALECSO Shield and the Certificate of Appointment from the Director-General, Sheikha Alyazia thanked the Director-General for offering her the honor of being appointed “Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture”. She stressed that she stands fully ready to place her expertise and experience at the service of ALECSO’s noble mission, noting that she will develop a program for the implementation of this mandate in cooperation and coordination with the Organization.
