H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, inaugurated on September 29, 2021 a hybrid workshop implemented by the Organization in partnership with the German Adult Education Association (DVV International) for officials and experts in the field of literacy and adult education in the Maghreb countries.
In his inaugural statement, Dr. Ould Amar indicated that the workshop is designed to come out with a clear idea about the current state of literacy and adult education systems, how they operate, and the challenges they encounter. This will help formulate joint future projects to enhance these systems in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the Education 2030 Agenda. He noted that the opportunity is ripe for further enhancing cooperation and partnership between ALECSO and DVV International in order to support the efforts of governments and relevant institutions in the Arab World to develop literacy and adult education policies and programs so that no one would be left behind.
A Framework Agreement between ALECSO and DVV International was signed on the first day of the workshop.
