The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization took part, along with other regional and international organizations active in the cultural field, in the virtual international symposium organized, on September 27-28, 2021, by the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, on “The Omani Cultural Experience and its Role in Promoting International Relations”.
ALECSO was represented in this symposium by Dr. Ahmado Habibi, expert at the Culture Department, who offered a paper on “ALECSO’s efforts for the promotion of Arab Culture”. The paper underlined the role played by the Organization in enhancing joint Arab cultural action, preserving the cultural specificities of the Arab countries, and publicizing Arab culture as being based on the principles of peace, diversity, pluralism and openness to all other cultures. It also highlighted ALECSO’s efforts to value and protect the Arab World’s rich cultural heritage and to raise awareness of its significant role in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and in strengthening international relations.
