His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated, on September 22, 2021, the 21st edition of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum.
Organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, this event is taking place at Sharjah Expo Center under the slogan "Animal Stories", and runs until September 30th. It is attended by representatives from 40 countries as well as from ALECSO, ISESCO and UNESCO.
ALECSO was represented in this event by Dr. Hayat Guermazi, Director of Culture Department, who offered a presentation during the opening session in which she highlighted ALECSO’s efforts to protect living human treasures, given their significant role in preserving the intangible cultural heritage over successive generations. She also reviewed the projects undertaken by ALECSO to protect and safeguard cultural heritage in the Arab world, including through supervising the preparation of Arab nomination files for inscription on UNESCO’s World Heritage lists.
