ALECSO and the International Organization of La Francophonie announce the winner of the 14th edition of Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award (2021)

 

 

As part of cooperation between the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), a Jury meeting was held via Zoom on September 2, 2021 to choose the winner of the 14th edition of “Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Translation Award in Literature and Social Sciences” (2021).

After deliberations, the Jury unanimously decided to grant the Award to Richard Jacquemond, Professor of Modern Arabic Language and Literature at Aix-Marseille University, for his translation, from Arabic into French, of the novel “Sur les Traces d'Enayat Zayyat” by Egyptian writer Iman Mersal. The Award-winning translation was published in 2021 by Sinbad - Actes Sud, France.

The Award, valued at 10000 Euros, will be handed out to the winner on September 23, 2021, at the “City of Culture” in Tunis.
