The meetings of the 108th ordinary session of the Economic and Social Council, held on August 29 - September 2, 2021, kicked off at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The meetings are held at the level of committees, then at the level of senior officials, and finally at the ministerial level.
The Council addressed the Social Committee’s agenda which includes nine items, foremost among which are :
- The Arab strategy and action plan for the economic and social empowerment of women and girls in rural areas (2022-2028).
- General principles for standardizing procedures for vaccine registration, approval, and use in the Arab countries.
The Committee’s meetings are chaired by Dr. Haifa Abu-Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States.
ALECSO participates in the Council’s meetings with a high-level delegation headed by Director-General H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar.
