At the invitation of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part in the celebration held, via Zoom on July 28, 2021, by the Qatar National Commission on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of ALECSO (July 25th).

Several Qatari institutions participated in this celebration during which presentations were made on the ALECSO-affiliated schools, the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Katara Cultural Village, and Qatar Museums. ALECSO offered an overview highlighting the main activities implemented jointly with the Qatar National Commission.

In his statement on this occasion, the Director-General commended the fruitful cooperation between ALECSO and the State of Qatar, through the National Commission, which has supported the implementation of many activities. “National Commissions in the Arab countries,” he said, “play a pivotal role in helping the Organization implement its activities across the Arab World. We have strengthened relations with them through the electronic system prepared by the Secretariat of the Executive Board and General Conference to facilitate communication between National Commissions and the General Directorate.” He added that “the project of the ALECSO-affiliated Clubs, Schools and Chairs has strengthened the Organization’s presence on the ground, becoming closer to the educational and academic community in the Arab countries. These endeavors will be pursued to further connect schools and clubs through an interactive system that facilitates communication and the sharing of experience and expertise.”
